Integrated Tug-Barge |
A world leader in model testing of ATB's (articulated tug barge units), Oceanic
offers a complete suite of testing services to the commercial shipping sector.
Cost-effective test programs are conducted using the
58 Meter Towing Tank and the
90 Meter Ice/Towing tank. The state-of-the-art Dynamometer is used
to reliably evaluate fuel saving appendages at model scale before the expense
of a full scale trial, to an accuracy of a few percent. Navigation issues are
addressed using the Centre for Marine Simulation, supported as required by
seakeeping and maneuvering data extracted from tests using the
Offshore Engineering Basin and Planar
Motion Mechanism. Physical model testing capabilities are supported
by leading-edge numerical analysis and full-scale
trials.
Oceanic's expertise in hydrodynamic performance is backed by experience in
understanding the conditions of the North Atlantic. Background in assessing
models for severe conditions in the North Atlantic is one of the reasons designers
and owners of marine systems choose Oceanic for performance evaluation services.
